FAQ'S

What is a Flat Track Weft ?

A Flat Track Weft Is a track like section of your hair that is created using silicone lined micro beads, the weft (curtain like piece of hair) is attached and sewn securely with specialty thread sitting comfortably against the scalp.

When do I have to come back to the salon to have them moved up?

Usually every 6-8weeks, your stylist will guide you as to what will be the best for your hair.

Can I still have my hair coloured whilst wearing weft hair extensions ?

The answer is yes! However there are some restrictions. You cannot bleach or highlight the extensions due to the processing of them but you can colour them darker or tone them cooler/warmer etc using only salon professional semi permanent colours. If you have a scalp bleach it is recommended that you have your regrowth done when having your extensions moved up to avoid having any bleach touching the weft, however it can still be done whilst the extensions are in if your stylist is experienced in doing so. You can tone and purple shampoo hair extensions, keep in mind that the hair extensions are a lot more porous than our natural hair so it is recommended to use the correct strength of blonde shampoo to suit. Milkshake Silver Shine Shampoo will be your best friend you blonde babes! If you are someone who colours their hair regularly you can still get hair extensions, almost all colouring can still be done whilst wearing hair extensions. If you are a foiled blonde, what you could do is instead of having a full head of foils is just have a half head and your hairline underneath foiled or just your part line (t section) as the extensions will create the lighter bolder colour throughout the back for you. This will be less risk of damage to your own hair through excessive colouring, giving your hair underneath a break and saving you money also.

Can I go swimming with my hair extensions?

Yes, you can still swim at the beach or in pools, however we would suggest you don't get your hair wet where possible! The hair should always be tied in a loose plait or pony. It is important to not wear the hair in a bun when hair is getting wet as this makes it very prone to tangling. After swimming you should always wash it that evening/day shampooing at least a few times then apply a deep conditioning treatment mask and leave in at least for 10 mins before rinsing. A leave in conditioner/treatment can be used prior to getting your hair wet to act as a barrier to the harmful effects that salt water/chlorine can have on our hair. You should be aware that if you are someone who swims very regularly, your extensions will not last as long as someone who swims infrequently.

Can I wear my hair up?

Yes! You can tie your hair back loosely but it is recommended to avoid putting hair up or firmly tied back for a few days or until comfortable to do so after your extensions have been applied or moved up as the beading and stitching is tight when installed and needs time to settle.

What brush is the best to use?

Your stylist will recommended the suited brush/comb to use on your extensions, the tangle teezer brush is our fav pick!

What type of hair is used?

We have sourced and use only the highest quality double drawn full cuticle intact European hair!

How long will my hair last?

This all depends on how well your hair is looked after at home, products used and lifestyle. The usual time frame is up to 1 year. Important things to remember:

  • Only use the recommended salon quality products provided by the salon.
  • Never use products containing Protein, Keratin, Sulphates/Parabens.
  • Avoid shampooing/scrubbing the extensions, only shampoo/scrub your scalp as this is where oil/dirt build up will sit.
  • Apply a deep treatment mask once per week.
  • Tie hair in a plait or pony prior to sleeping and exercising.
  • Use recommended extension brush to keep your hair tangle free, brushing daily to avoid any matting.
  • Always use thermal protector on your hair.
  • Return for your maintenance on time to ensure no damage is caused to your natural hair or extensions.
